The modern world often generates anxieties, which encourages us to stop living in the present and enter into connection with other moments and times. If we are focused on the future, we can sink into an apprehension curve, as we have not yet realized or experienced what is to come. If we dwell excessively on the past, we can bring up hurt, sadness or other negative feelings that prevent us from breaking through what blocks us from living a full, happy and meaningful life. . Living in the present does not mean lack of commitment to everything that is part of life. Living in the present is paying attention to the current moment, understanding that our life is a light story and that at any moment we can no longer be in this world, for this reason we cannot waste time. Whether for those who have or not, a busy routine with many obligations and professional and personal commitments, the best thing to do is to live in the present moment, because this mode of attention allows our conscience to be alert to act in the best way in decision making, benefiting ourselves and those around us, because tomorrow is another day and we have no control over what will come. We must not worry about tomorrow, each day has enough trouble, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. The expression “pre-occupation” means to take care of something before it has happened. This restlessness is usually crossed by the desire to want to control the future and expectations created by our mind. Thus, we will not be able to make the best decisions and, above all, live the fullness of the present, with the tranquility that allows us to evaluate, understand and plan life without anxiety or control, but with success and wisdom. Life is the period between birth and death. Life is, therefore, the time of our existence. Life is what it is! The trap is wanting to solve it, not accepting the moment and always being dissatisfied. It is important to accept the moment. Remember: what is happening in your life is what has to happen and it always brings lessons, especially when we welcome and accept this experience. Non-acceptance is the blockage that causes total dissatisfaction. Our life is a gift, we wake up every morning and have the chance to breathe and be able to live another day in the present, even in the face of adversity. But just being alive gives us hope that other days will come better or worse and we have the choice or decision to make each day inspiring and worth living. It just depends on me and you! For reflection: “True generosity towards the future consists in giving everything to the present”. (Albert Camus) Text written by Stael Veiga
