Homesickness is a difficult feeling to deal with. We miss people, moments and even things we don’t live, but that our soul craves. There are longings that are impossible to kill, we have this notion of reality, you can’t kill because he or she is gone, but there are also memories that bring us good feelings and good memories. Memories of people who left, but left their marks within us, a legacy for humanity that will never be forgotten. On the other hand, there are longings that we feel and that we can overcome. The one that gives us the opportunity to retrace the path once lost, to hug again, to kiss again, to forgive and ask for forgiveness, to extend our hands again, simply to kill the longing. It is a longing for something or people who are alive and available. Missing a father or mother, a brother, a friend who often live in the same city, and in this case, it’s a longing that can be achieved. Are you missing? Go where that person is, make a cell phone call, say you miss them and that’s it! Sometimes it seems that pride and arrogance for many is a more powerful feeling than admitting that you miss them, but admitting that you miss them is more important. What happens most of the time is that we manage nostalgia, we don’t end it. There are people who miss a loved one, who is close by, but because of a word spoken at the wrong time, bad feelings that dominate the heart, they are unable to forgive and heal the longing. Don’t murmur about your family, enjoy the presence of your parents, husband, wife, children, siblings, and others, because the same reason that may irritate you today, may be a reason to miss you at some point. Break this cycle and enjoy the presence of your loved ones, anyway, they are alive! Do yourself a favor, kill your longing today, who you haven’t seen, hugged or kissed in a while. Say “I love you” to whoever is available and comes to your memory at that moment. Want to be really happy? Happiness consists of the absence of feelings that suffocate us and the bonanza of feelings that make us love people, without expecting anything in return. The longing will become joy! Aaah! How good it is to love and feel loved! Text written by Stael Veiga
